Glovia 4.0 Chosen to Enhance Sulzer Chemtech's Operational Process.
Singapore, 5 February 1999 - Sulzer Chemtech Pte Ltd has selected Glovia International's ERP solution over a number of competitive products to help revamp its operational transaction process, to address the company's IT needs that have arisen due to its substantial growth over the last few years.
A leading manufacturer of mass transfer equipment, Swiss-based Sulzer Chemtech supplies process technology for selected separation, mixing and reaction tasks in the Oil and Gas industry. The company has an comprehensive list of local customers, including leading petroleum giants.
Since the establishment of its Singapore regional office and its processing plant at Tuas in 1988, it has more than doubled its staff strength. Substantial internal growth, coupled with increasing portfolio of customers led the company to review its IT system.
"We have chosen Glovia because the system fits well with our current software, and its manufacturing background ensures us that it can handle our kind of environment," said Mr Urs Fankhauser, President, Asia Pacific of Sulzer Chemtech Pte Ltd. "And very importantly, Glovia also meets our criteria of providing local technical and business consultancy support."
One of the main aims of implementing an ERP system for Sulzer Chemtech was to integrate the various existing systems, and to enable the management to have closer and more effective day-to-day monitoring of the company's projects. "Glovia's advanced technology enables Sulzer to easily accomplish these activities," said Mr Fankhauser.
The selected ERP software, Glovia 4.0 will help Sulzer enhance its staff capabilities, streamline its operations and achieve cost efficiency. It will also greatly improve the company's financial systems and reporting. In addition, its unique "Seiban" capabilities will enable Sulzer Chemtech to better satisfy customer demands and maintain global competitiveness. The Glovia Seiban application employs a selective netting capability that allows manufacturers exacting control over the allocation of supply (inventories, production orders, purchase orders, etc).
"Sulzer Chemtech's rapid growth required a highly functional system which can be implemented easily, and within a short timeframe. Its projected growth also means they need a system that can be extended in future," said Kreg Brown, CEO and President of Glovia International Asia Pacific. "Glovia is pleased to have been selected to meet these demanding requirements."
