Fujitsu Isotec Ireland Selects Glovia International to Provide Enterprise Resource Planning Solution.
Glovia's ERP solution, integrated with ProIV's shop floor data collection, will deliver ERP efficiencies directly to Fujitsu Isotec's customers
Isotec, Ireland - March 15, 1999 - Glovia International, Inc., a leading supplier of enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions for discrete manufacturers in the automotive, telecommunications, electronics and capital equipment sectors, today announced that Fujitsu Isotec Ireland (FIR), a member of the Fujitsu Group, has selected Glovia to implement an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.
The Glovia ERP solution will support the manufacturing processes of the company's Fujitsu products and components, namely print heads, ribbon cassettes, point of Sale printers and a wide range of subcontract products. Glovia's ERP solution will also support the sale of Fujitsu Print Partner and Network Laser Printers.
FIR previously used a Japanese Fujitsu mainframe, which was not Y2K compliant and did not link into their PC network. Coupled with limited access, lack of integration and no finance links, FIR decided to migrate to NT earlier this year.
Glovia will enable FIR to integrate and streamline areas throughout the factory from manufacturing to finance, provide user-friendly accessibility of the system and flexible reporting, to include any bolt-on software such as Cognos' reporting tool, 'Impromptu'.
FIR selected Glovia for its robust functionality, competitive pricing and speed of implementation. Glovia is scheduled to 'go live' at FIR in August 1999, just 9 months after placing the order.
"Glovia will give us the ability to respond quickly to the changing demands of our customers," said Jean Duggan, Project Manager, Fujitsu Isotec Ireland Ltd. "In the past, due to our non integrated system, we have had to develop workarounds and undertake a lot of data and effort duplication. With Glovia all systems are integrated with a single information source, so when our sales or customer services team take a call from a customer they will be able to see the exact stage of production at a glance, enabling swift responses to our customers queries," continued Duggan.
Tailor-made to suit FIR's requirements the Glovia solution will be further developed, following feedback sessions, after a 5-day training course run by Glovia for the ERP project team.
