Glovia International Appoints Matt O'Malley President and Chief Executive Offier.
Los Angeles, Calif - February 14, 2000 - Glovia International, Inc., the leading provider of business applications, e-commerce solutions, advanced technology, and world class services for the digital marketplace, today announced the appointment of Matt O'Malley as President and Chief Executive Officer.
O'Malley comes to Glovia with an extensive background as President and CEO of PROIV Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of MDIS. PROIV Technologies, Inc. owns, develops and distributes the PROIV rapid application development (RAD) tool used by customers, including Glovia International, to build high-quality industrial-strength web-enabled business applications.
O'Malley joined MDIS in 1984 and has been a strategic player in a variety of significant initiatives within the company. He was a key driver in the transitions from proprietary hardware to open systems. With an in-depth understanding of complex e-commerce technologies and the ability to create strategic alliances with international organizations, O'Malley was responsible for corporate partnering with key technology vendors, such as Motorola and Sun Microsystems.
Having a broad experience in Asian business matters, O'Malley was also instrumental in building strong strategic relationships with Fujitsu in the Far East. This relationship allowed O'Malley to be the key player in the formation of Glovia International, a joint venture between MDIS and Fujitsu, in June 1997.
"I'm joining the company at an exciting time," said Matt. "Glovia is uniquely positioned to establish a leadership position in B2B e-commerce. I look forward to working with our customers and partners to help them optimize the opportunity offered by the digital marketplace."
