Glovia International Signs $2 Million Engagement.
Leading provider of enterprise business applications is selected from among hundreds of candidates for worldwide implementation of software standard
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - October 11, 2000 - Glovia International, a leading provider of enterprise business applications and next generation e-business solutions for the digital marketplace, today announced a $2 million worldwide agreement with Varco International to implement Glovia's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in all of Varco's divisions around the world.
Varco International is the world's leading manufacturer and supplier of innovative drilling equipment and rig instrumentation, oilfield tubular inspections and internal coating techniques, solids control systems and services, and coiled tubing and pressure control equipment for both land and offshore drilling operations.
By implementing Glovia's enterprise system, Varco will be able to fully leverage the power of the Internet by supporting a wide range of B2B applications in all of its divisions, including MD Totco, Shaffer, Rigtech and the newly-merged Tuboscope division.
Glovia was selected from among hundreds of candidates to provide a single, unified interface to Varco's worldwide customers and help the company capitalize on its leadership position in the industry.
"This deal is an excellent example of how two companies can work in partnership to enhance each other's competitive capabilities," said Matt O'Malley, president and CEO of Glovia. "Implementing our ERP solution for Varco has given us valuable insight into the system requirements necessary to provide progressive engineering project-based software that is unique in the marketplace. Varco will be able to present a single 'face' to its worldwide customer base and coordinate operations among all its divisions, both of which are absolutely critical in today's fast-moving digital economy."
"When it came time to select an ERP supplier, we went all-out to make the best choice," said Mark Merit, President of the Shaffer division of Varco. "After almost a year's search and a review of hundreds of candidates, we selected Glovia International because of its strong project and engineer-to-order software capability combined with its rapid implementation capability. With Glovia, we look forward to reduced costs and improved growth through our customer service."
Varco has already completed one major implementation of the Glovia system, and is in the process of implementing facilities in Scotland, Singapore, Houston and San Antonio. Additionally, Varco is combining resources into a spare parts operation, which will also include Glovia system architecture.
