EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - August 27, 2001 - Glovia, the business-to-business e-commerce subsidiary of Fujitsu Limited, has appointed Hiroya Madarame chairman of the board of directors.

Madarame, a 34-year Fujitsu veteran, is senior vice president of Fujitsu Ltd., and president of the company's systems engineering and application software groups. He also serves as chairman of the board of DMR Consulting Group, a subsidiary of Fujitsu, and also serves as a Fujitsu board member.

As Glovia's chairman, one of Madarame's goals is to increase revenue by fostering stronger working relationships among Fujitsu's subsidiaries. Madarame also will lead Glovia's ongoing transformation into a global provider of e-commerce solutions. Over the past nine months, the company has rolled out new global order management, collaboration and supply chain applications.

"The global business experience and leadership that Madarame brings to Glovia is tremendous," said Matt O'Malley, president and CEO of Glovia. "I am honored to work with a man of Madarame's caliber, and expect he will contribute greatly to the growth and direction of Glovia."

Madarame joined Fujitsu in 1967. He advanced from director of the systems engineering group to general manager and then to executive vice president. He was named senior vice president in 2000 and joined the Glovia board in April 2001.

"I am pleased to take a leadership role in the management of a dynamic company like Glovia," said Madarame. "Glovia has many strengths - a strong enterprise resource planning legacy, talented employees and a customer base that includes several of the world's largest manufacturers. I intend to leverage these strengths to transform Glovia into the leading provider of global e-commerce solutions."

The Glovia board also includes: Matt O'Malley; Randy Ehler, senior vice president of strategic planning and business development of Glovia; James Gorham, senior vice president of sales and marketing of Glovia; Dennis Michalis, chief operating officer of Glovia; Satoru "Steve" Hayashi, executive vice president of Glovia; Toshihiro Nishimura and Morimasa Ikemoto, members of the Fujitsu board of directors; and Michael Hallman, former chief operating officer of Microsoft and president of The Hallman Group.
