Making Business Transaction Solutions Truly Portable:
Glovia Ports Its Newest ERP Solution to Fujitsu Tablet PCs
El Segundo, Calif., April 1, 2003 — Glovia announces that it has ported the newest version of its fully integrated, extended ERP solution to Fujitsu PC Corporation's line of pen-enabled Tablet PCs.
"Thanks to this 'joining' of Glovia's extended ERP solution and the Fujitsu Tablet PCs, our customers are now truly mobile," says Dennis R. Michalis, Glovia President and CEO. "As they're no longer 'locked' to a desktop PC or even a notebook, they're using Glovia ERP in many remote locations – from sales and field service calls to the manufacturing floor. Our customers now conduct real-time business transactions in situations where before they couldn't, and this is allowing them to bring added value to their customers."
Glovia's fully integrated, extended ERP offers a competitive edge to companies that employ make-to-order, engineer-to-order or high-volume electronics manufacturing styles. The solution features capabilities for sales/marketing, customer relationship management (CRM), projects/contract management, service management, material management, procurement, and integrated financials.
Specific solution features include a: 1) global order management system, with order, order status and quote functions, 2) configuration function, enabling the configuration/ordering of complex engineered products, 3) service component, allowing instant access to vital customer/product information, 4) trading engine, featuring multiple platform, language, site and currency functionality, allowing multiple companies to complete online transactions.
Fujitsu PC Corporation manufactures various pen-enabled Tablet PC models. The Fujitsu Stylistic ST4110 Tablet PC incorporates Microsoft® Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition, an Ultra Low Voltage Mobile Intel® Pentium® III Processor 800MHz – M, 10.4-inch XGA TFT display, active digitizer and optional wireless Wi-Fi capability. The Stylistic ST4110P Tablet PC features the same processor, display and optional wireless Wi-Fi capability as the ST4110 model, along with Windows 2000 and a passive digitizer.
Rounding out the Fujitsu Tablet PCs are the Stylistic 3500 Tablet PC, featuring a 500MHz Intel Celeron processor and choice of Windows 98 Second Edition or Windows 2000 Professional; Stylistic LT P-600 Tablet PC, incorporating a 600MHz Intel Pentium III processor and Windows 98 Second Edition with PenX 2.02; and the PenCentra 200 Tablet PC, featuring a 129MHz RISC processor and choice of Windows CE 2.11 or Windows Handheld PC 2000.
"Glovia's fully integrated and extended ERP is the first strategic application to be ported to Fujitsu Tablet PCs," says Toshio Morohoshi, Fujitsu PC Corporation President and CEO. "It's a union that works well, and it's offering end-users an unsurpassed level of productivity and performance."
According to Michalis, the Glovia extended ERP/Fujitsu Tablet PC combination is finding significant application in sales force and field force automation. "Sales professionals are especially finding it useful in the complex sales environment, with its relationship-based structure, longer sales cycles and high-dollar sales. In the field, it's allowing a field service technician to receive and manage dispatch information anywhere, document arrival and departure times at a customer site, record inventory consumed in a repair, and figure invoicing. And, the technician is doing this in real-time, in paperless mode, making that individual more productive and better able to offer value to the customer."
