Fenner Dunlop Expands Use Of glovia.com To Enhance Business Performance

PDF version

El Segundo, Calif., October 14, 2003 - Glovia International, a subsidiary of Fujitsu and a leading provider of extended ERP solutions for engineer-to-order and high volume manufacturers, today announced that Fenner Dunlop Europe has selected Glovia International's extended ERP solution to streamline its operations.

Fenner Dunlop Europe located in Drachten, Netherlands is a market leader in manufacturing and supplying multi-ply carcass conveyer belting. Their market environment is extremely competitive and price-sensitive forcing them to increase their levels of efficiency and minimize their costs.

Glovia's ERP solution is designed to support mixed-mode manufacturing (engineered-to-order through high volume/repetitive) and also offers project/contract based manufacturing, service management capabilities, integrated financials, business intelligence, supply chain management, collaboration, integration and customer relationship management.

By employing Glovia, Fenner Dunlop will be able to optimize operations and increase visibility. Fenner Dunlop has been using glovia.com more than 10 years for sales and finance and will be implementing the glovia.com manufacturing and supplier management functionality, as well as the factory planning and integrated product configurator.

"To consolidate our market leadership we have to be able to offer competitive prices, which means that we need to optimize internal processes to realize low cost," said Mollo Bosma, who is leading the project for Fenner Dunlop. "For Production, we have been using a legacy system with several interfaces that are no longer supported by the supplier. Those two issues made us decide to improve our IT-environment. The integration of all business processes into glovia.com will allow us to obtain more output at lower cost. At the same time we will have a significant drop in the amount of paperwork and improve order accuracy."

Fenner Dunlop works with sales orders that have unique and standard model numbers. The integrated product configurator will be used to translate a sales order into a work order with a bill of material and routing.

With glovia.com factory planning, Fenner Dunlop will be able to optimize their production. By improving planning capabilities, set up times and work in progress will be reduced, while at the same time purchasing and inventory management will be optimized. The visibility offered by the advanced planning system will enable Fenner Dunlop to realize optimal planning of supply and demand.

"The integration of all business processes into the glovia.com system will allow Fenner Dunlop to gain greater visibility into vital company operations," commented Dennis Michalis, president and CEO of Glovia International. "By being able to better asses the company, many operations will be streamlined leading to reduced production lead times, more timely deliveries and better customer service."
