Successful Automotive Fastener Manufacturer Selects Glovia to Manage Company-wide Operations
Rocknel Fastener Chooses Glovia For Ease and Speed of Implementation, Superior Functionality and Support For Lean Manufacturing
El Segundo, Calif., June 9, 2004 - Glovia International, a subsidiary of Fujitsu and a leading provider of extended ERP solutions for engineer-to-order and high volume manufacturers, announced today that Rocknel Fastener has selected Glovia's extended ERP solution, glovia.com, to manage all their company-wide operations - from sales and procurement to production, order management and post-sale service.
The company is starting the implementation process this month at both their manufacturing facility and their sales and distribution center with plans to go live by the first of November.
Rocknel Fastener is a leading manufacturer of cold-formed fasteners for the automotive industry, primarily servicing the domestic Japanese market. The company was encumbered by their legacy system, which was growing more and more outdated and unable to keep up with their business needs. Rocknel Fastener began a long, prudent search process for an ERP solution to better manage their company-wide operations and eventually selected glovia.com.
"glovia.com was the best fit from the standpoint of what we are currently doing as a business and what we intend to do as a business in the future. We also especially liked the strong planning and scheduling functionality, the open database structure and the ability to create reports on demand," states Jerry Parsons, controller for Rocknel Fastener. "The cost, ease of implementation, and the level of comfort that Glovia provided with their vast experience in the automotive industry made us confident we could make glovia.com work for our business successfully."
glovia.com's comprehensive functionality supports every aspect of the product lifecycle, which was especially attractive to Rocknel Fastener. Once implemented glovia.com will enable Rocknel Fastener to respond quickly and accurately to customer demands, compress cycle times and information flow throughout the supply chain and allow demand to activate production and procurement operations.
Looking further ahead, Rocknel Fastener plans to realign their business processes, with the help of glovia.com, to operate in a leaner manufacturing environment. glovia.com will provide the company the ability to streamline operations by providing the best information needed to control processes, coordinate enterprise-wide activities, monitor quality and measure improvements as effectively as possible leading to a leaner, more demand-driven operating environment.
"By selecting glovia.com, Rocknel Fastener will have the flexible, integrated and real-time solution they need to be able to effectively manage their business operations," states Yuji Nakasu, president and CEO for Glovia International. "By providing accurate and up-to-the-minute information, eliminating information latency and compressing cycle times, glovia.com will enable Rocknel Fastener to make intelligent decisions more quickly and improve their enterprise-wide responsiveness."
