Lean Simulation Training Sessions
Related to this issue's theme of Lean Manufacturing, we have a very exciting presentation happening at this year's conference: Avery Dennison will be conducting hands-on Lean Supply Chain Simulation Training workshops with related best practices sessions to follow to further increase your knowledge. Space in the hands-on sessions is very limited so be sure to register early.

The purpose of this training is to demonstrate various Lean Supply Chain Management techniques, concepts, and principles using a hands-on, working module that simulates the functionality of a multi-tiered supply network. These principles include just-in-time supply, lean production, network optimization, third-party logistics (3PL), waste identification and reduction, and value stream management. At the completion of this workshop, participants will have acquired a general overview of: supply chain management; extended supply chain value stream; push, pull, and optimized supply chain concepts; continuous improvement techniques; and network waste identification.

Calling All Presentations
User presentations are the cornerstone of every Glovia International User Group Conference. They represent the hard-won successes and experience of glovia.com users like you and are invaluable to attendees.

We are accepting user presentations for all three 2004 conference tracks:

  • Operational — show how you overcame a challenge or improved your
        business with glovia.com.
  • Application — demonstrate how to get the most out of glovia.com's capabilities.
  • Technical — inform your peers on how to make glovia.com a key piece of
        their technology strategy.

If you are interested in presenting at the 2004 Conference, please contact Scott Minter, Glovia User Group Technical Manager, at scott@florida-pneumatic.com. If you have had special success with Glovia recently, please do consider "showing off" at the conference! User presentations make the conference a much better experience for everyone. We all win when we share our success and best practices.

Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions about the Glovia User Group. I look forward to seeing you at the 2004 conference!

Sincerely,

Ken McAninch
