Glovia EMEA and UK Offices Conduct Successful Customer Days The Glovia International Benelux Customer Day The 2004 Glovia International Customer Day in Raamsdonkveer, The Netherlands on 12 October was an excellent 'meet and great' opportunity. Users from Belgium and the Netherlands had the opportunity to learn more about Glovia software and discuss strategies with fellow users and Glovia staff. Several subjects were on the agenda, highlights of the day were:
Dee Zeeuw van der Laan, Managing Director of Machinefabriek Werklust gave a presentation on the use of glovia.com within his company. Werklust is a manufacturer and supplier of shovels. The presentation showed how Werklust implemented glovia.com and uses the software to survive in its highly competitive market. Werklust uses glovia.com to support their lean initiatives. Their continuous search for possibilities to integrate manual processes into their IT-systems results in real-time access to vital company information so crucial business decisions can be made quickly and with confidence. This was a real treat for those who wanted to learn from such best practices. This time, the location of the annual Customer Day was at the National Automobile Museum. The museum has one of the world's finest collections of historical automobiles. Customers relived their youth, explored the evolution of the automobile, enjoyed superb catering, and ended an excellent day with drinks and discussions about engines and speed. UK Customer Day Hits The Right Note With Delegates Glovia UK hosted its annual customer event at the Hellidon Lakes hotel near Daventry on the 21st of October and received tremendous feedback from the assembled delegates. Almost every single assessment form rated all of the day's presentations as either 'Relevant' or 'Highly Relevant'. The main themes of the conference were built around the general subject of lean manufacturing, a topic that is of great importance to British manufacturing, which is battling to maintain and then improve the productivity gains hard won over the last 18 months. A wide spectrum of customers attended, representing a number of industry sectors including Telecommunications, Electronics, Automotive and Capital Equipment. They all enthusiastically contributed to the more than 80 minutes worth of questions put to the various speakers throughout the day. After a Glovia company update and an in-depth look at the very latest Glovia extended ERP product suite, glovia.com, the event engaged the main theme: lean manufacturing. Presentation material covered both the theory and practice of lean manufacturing from the perspective of both manual processes and IT based solutions. The highlight of the day was a customer case study presented by Julie Wilks, Business Applications Manager at Fujitsu Telecommunications in Birmingham. Julie described the experience of implementing XML-based eTrading via Fujitsu's Interstage solutions, glovia.com Shop Floor Data Collection, and glovia.com Factory Planning as part of her company's operational efficiency program. The audience reacted with spontaneous applause as she concluded a brilliantly analytical presentation on the benefits of adopting a lean manufacturing strategy. Our thanks to all in attendance. We look forward to seeing you and your associates at the next event.
