2006 is Bright!

Outlook on 2006 is an Exciting New Year, Filled with Promise

By Yuji Nakasu

Although a quarter of the calendar year has already passed, a long road filled with exciting events, innovative enhancements and improved service offerings remains. This edition of The Extended Enterprise touches on a few of these developments and offers additional information regarding Lean thinking and application erosion. As I thank everyone for their investment in glovia.com this year, I hope our relationship continues to strengthen through our commitment and devotion to you, the customer.

One of the largest privately held baggage handling systems manufacturers in the United States, G&T Conveyor provides products that are well known for transporting luggage at the ticket counter and baggage claim, to and from the airplane, and through security checkpoints. Faced with issues of multiple legacy systems, poor cycle times, and scalability, G&T Conveyor sought to develop a standard enterprise application that would provide increased visibility and support. Glovia is proud to announce the successful implementation of glovia.com in our latest case study on G&T Conveyor.

Continuing to emphasize our dedication to customers and to continuous improvement, Glovia has recently made a number of enhancements, most notably in the areas of electronic kanban, inventory planning and control capabilities. These enhancements, designed with the help of our customers, are aimed to help a Lean organization respond to demand effectively by getting the right product, to the right place, at the right time.

In addition to the improvements we've made to our products, Glovia also wants to provide you with the high level of service that you deserve. The business optimization analysis (BOA) is just one of the many areas where our professional services group can help maximize the performance of your investment and your company. To help maintain and tap into the full potential of your investment, our consultants provide a customized service that ultimately creates ownership, empowers users and establishes a solid infrastructure, all of which are extremely vital.

Strengthening our focus on you, the customer, Glovia seeks to exceed expectations by going beyond our traditional offerings and serving as a source of information and reference. Our latest white paper discusses the non-technology factors required to successfully implement Lean processes in an organization. True commitment, continuous improvement, established values- and employee willingness are some of the key areas highlighted as the difference makers between those who want to be Lean and those who are.

Last but not least, our User Group Conference is quickly approaching and I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Nashville, TN from May 21st-25th at the Sheraton Music City Hotel. As a strong believer in group learning, I am confident that the conference will not only answer the questions that keep you up late at night, but it will also address issues and concerns that may have never occurred to you. The User Group Conference is a great sharing and learning experience that will be complemented by a number of informative events and sessions.

As always, thank you for taking the time to read The Extended Enterprise and please feel free to submit your comments to me at extended-enterprise@glovia.com. I wish you nothing but the best in 2006!

Regards,

Yuji Nakasu
