Improving Global Supply Chains

Glovia includes powerful new supply chain management functionality to help manufacturers make the best use of their enterprise-wide resources to meet demand. The new solution aggregates enterprise-wide demand and intelligently allocates it to production facilities based on strategic business goals-such as cost reduction or customer service-while allowing for the local optimization of production.

Glovia includes functionality for:


  • Demand Management
    • Provides manufacturers with an enterprise-wide view of total demand by aggregating forecast and customer order data from sales, marketing, channels and customers. The solution provides complete visibility of total item demand and demand allocation as well as the ability to make forecast adjustments and drill down to detailed information. Glovia also incorporates real-time capable-to-promise (CTP) functionality, allowing manufacturers to commit accurately to customer orders.


  • Supply Management
    • Automatically places global demand in the correct local production facility based on available capacity and inventory levels, while simultaneously considering cost or customer delivery date. The solution optimizes your distributed operations to meet demand and allows you to review and adjust how orders are allocated.


  • Order Fulfillment and Management
    • Manages the entire order fulfillment business process, enabling manufacturers to synchronize orders with planned production. The solution, using a memory-resident, constraint-based optimization engine, determines the best possible supply scenario for given demand. The planning engine takes in to account global resources and commitments and allows you to offer alternative configurations and substitutions instantly to meet customer delivery dates.

    New Collaboration and Integration Platform

    Glovia includes a new collaborative business integration platform that enables manufacturers to share information easily and automate critical business processes with their customers and trading partners. The solution is built upon Fujitsu's proven Interstage technology, which is already running in more than 31,000 sites around the world.

    Based on an open XML framework, the platform enables manufacturers to exchange information across disparate systems easily, whether internal or external. The solution includes inbound and outbound XML transaction sets, XML data synchronization capabilities and functionality for trading partner management, workflow and transaction automation. The solution also supports the latest technology and industry standards, including J2EE, SOAP, UDDI, ebXML, CORBA and RosettaNet.

    Core ERP Enhancements

    Glovia also delivers more than 60 individual enhancements to its core ERP applications, including:


  • Customer Relationship Management
    • Unifies all customer-facing business processes and includes a sales catalog and the ability to recommend substitutes as well as order shipping capabilities that support drop ship, relay ship, packing groups, sales order re-pricing, automatic re-pricing on shipment and pro forma invoices.

  • Procurement
    • Includes a web-based procurement solution for indirect materials and MRO. The solution includes a comprehensive rules-based workflow and approval engine and is seamlessly integrated with Glovia's Financials solution.

  • Manufacturing
    • Extended functionality for MRP by entity, material supply planning and product lifecycle costs as well as automotive-specific improvements and new Shop Floor Data Collection transactions.

  • Financials
    • Includes a financial data warehouse and report writer, as well as improved financial controls.

  • Projects
    • Manage inter-related projects and track financial information as one program. Includes project task analysis capabilities and ability to track budget hours by task.
